What to do at nowanden Homestay?
Top of the list has to be relax and enjoy.
walk, swim and play golf
Bush walks, we can get you to the Queen Charlotte Track walkway. (Your vehicle or ours, a drop off and collection fee would apply.) At nowanden we have 45 hectares of regenerating native bush including giant Rimu and Miro trees preserved under the Queen Elizabeth Trust. The track is medium / steep but well worth the puff.
Waitaria Bay offers swimming, strolling, shore fishing for snapper, kayaking (we’ve got a couple or bring your own), mountain biking (byo). A thirteen hole golf course is nearby.
Down at the bay there’s mussels and oysters to gather.
Codswobble tour’n fish.
We’re spoilt for choice, variety and quality sea / landscapes. Kenepuru Sound is at our "doorstep" offering mussel tours, access to Queen Charlotte Track, sport fishing and more. We are located for easy access to the greater Pelorus Sound where we whisk you off for the popular Codswobble tour ‘n fish. Walking tracks of easy contour, virgin native bush far from the maddening crowd are available via boat only access through Pelorus Sound.
What they’ve said:
From Napier NZ:
“What an amazing trip; couldn't believe the scenery . We’ll definitely be back for more. Thanks Pat for everything, just a great morning.”
From NSW Australia:
“A bonus seafood dinner tonight after a brilliant sight seeing trip”
As a guide a 3 hour Codswobble tour is priced at:
- For one to four people $320
- For Five (maximum) $350
Horse riding
Then there’s the horse option. We don’t have hire horses but if you’re into horses why not bring your own? We’d charge a grazing fee of $10/day. The rides are plentiful. Here’s an idea: Go for a trek and leave the old man fishing!
