You will enjoy the tin can cottage we call The Mussel Inn.

When we built our retirement retreat at Waitaria Bay we added a two bedroomed semi self contained cottage, the Mussel Inn, for friends and family; close enough to enjoy the ambience and facilities of the straw bale homestead but far enough away for each group to have their own space.

The Mussel Inn boasts two bedrooms. One is basic twin, the other sleeps three with an upstairs / downstairs bunk and a single bed. We have a spare trundler bed which could wheel out into the lounge should the need for extra or independence arise. A sunny lounge takes in the view of the bay. A verandah walk takes you to separate shower and toilet. While out at the end of the verandah sits a sink, gas ring cooker and fridge.

Meals are offered in the straw bale homestead or at the barbecue patio. You may wish to cook your own but your tongue will be hanging out when you see what we’re eating!

And finally when your body is aching from all of the unaccustomed rest you have exposed it to there is the Bush bath to set you up for a good night's sleep.
